Connecting to a Remote Server from a Windows Computer

A VPN connection is required, if off-campus or off-domain.
Michigan Tech VPN - vpn.mtu.edu
  1. Establish a VPN connection.
  2. Open the Remote Desktop Connection application from the Start Menu.

  3. Enter the host name of the computer, then select Connect.

  4. Enter your Michigan Tech username and password in the following format: mtu\username, then select OK.

Remote Server (remote.mtu.edu)

Remote.mtu.edu allows you to log onto a server and access a limited number of on-campus applications. Due to limitations, only certain software is available for use on remote.mtu.edu.
