Remote Server (remote.mtu.edu)

The remote server (remote.mtu.edu) allows you to log onto a server and access a limited number of on-campus applications. Due to limitations, only certain software is available for use and is listed below.

Connection steps

  1. An VPN connection is required to connect to remote.mtu.edu. If you need instructions, please read the support article on how to establish a VPN Connection.
  2. From the Start Menu, open the Remote Desktop Connection application.

  3. In the Computer field, enter remote.mtu.edu and select Connect.

  4. When asked to enter your credentials, enter your Michigan Tech account name and password. You must use the following format: MTU\username. Select OK to connect.
