Using the Software campus software library (Linux - RHEL7)

You can install selected software (without administrative privileges) for managed devices running Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7 using the Software campus software library.  Software is not available to the general public; only faculty, staff, and graduate students using managed computers have access.

Instructions

  1. Open the Software application.
    • Option 1
      1. Press the Windows key (super key).
      2. Begin typing "Software".
      3. Select Software (not “Software Updater”).

      1. Press the Windows key (super key).
      2. From the Overview screen, in the Applications/Favorites bar, select show applications button (3x3 grid of dots)
      3. Select the Software application from the list.
  2. Once open, you can search for software using the search dialog or category list.

  3. Choose the software you wish to install and select Install Package and Apply Changes.

  4. You will be prompted for your Michigan Tech password to begin the software installation.
