Eduroam shows up on your computers and devices as the wireless SSID “eduroam” when you are within the wireless range of our campus. Eduroam must be an available wireless network to complete the installation.
Install the eduroam Configuration Assistant Tool (eduroamCAT)
- Search for and install the eduroam CAT application from the Google Play or Amazon App store.

- Open a web browser and go to the eduroam CAT page at cat.eduroam.org. Select the eduroam user: download your eduroam installer button.
- Find and select Michigan Tech in the list of home institutions.
- The web page should find the appropriate Android download based on the device you are using, e.g., Android 5.0 Lollipop. Select the button to begin downloading the installer.
- The eduroam CAT application will open. When asked to Install Profile, choose Yes.
- When asked to log in, enter your Michigan Tech account name (including the @mtu.edu) and password.
- The screen will indicate that the profile is installed and that you are connected. You are now connected to eduroam.
Manual Configuration
Android devices should connect to the eduroam network. Use the following if you need to configure settings manually.
- EAP type: Protected EAP (PEAP)
- Authentication Method: Secured password (EAP-MSCHAP v2 )
- CA certificate: Do not validate
- Identity: Enter your Michigan Tech email (accountname@mtu.edu)
- Password: Enter your Michigan Tech password
Android 11
A Domain field is required for versions of Android 11 and newer. For domain, enter mtu.edu.
