Getting started with the Google Suite (G Suite) at Michigan Tech

G Suite is the set of web-based tools used for communication and collaboration. The suite includes tools for email, calendaring, groups, word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, forms, and file storage.  Getting started is as easy as logging into any Google application with your Michigan Tech account name and password.

Google provides a series of tutorials in the G Suite Learning Center designed to familiarize you with the G Suite Apps.

  • Begin by reviewing the Quick Start Guide to learn how to navigate between G Suite apps and perform basic tasks such as sending emails, scheduling events, and storing your files.
  • Once you've completed the Quick Start Guide, you might want to check out the Learning Center guides for the individual apps, including Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, Gmail, Calendar, Keep, and Groups.
  • If you are familiar with and use the Microsoft Office products, there is a whole topic in the Learning Center dedicated to Switching to G Suite from Microsoft
