The campus telephone system for staff and faculty includes a conference calling feature that lets you talk to multiple parties at the same time. With this custom calling feature, business can be conducted with up to eight participants (including yourself) using a single conference call.

How to place a conference call using an analog phone or conference unit

To form a conference when a two-party call is already in place, or to add another party to an existing conference:

  1. Let your existing caller(s) know that you will be placing them on hold until another party is added to the conference.
  2. Press the receiver-disconnect or FLASH button to place them on hold. You should have another dial tone.
  3. Dial the number of the next party and wait for an answer. Tell them they will be placed on hold temporarily.
  4. Press the receiver-disconnect or FLASH button to place the new party on hold. You should have another dial tone.
  5. Dial the Conference Call Feature access code *54 to add the new party to the conference call.
  6. To add additional callers to an existing conference call, simply repeat the above steps for each party you add.

How to place a conference call using an IP phone

  1. Press the TRANS/CONF key.
  2. Dial the number of the next party and wait for an answer. Tell them they will be placed on hold temporarily.
  3. Press the TRANS/CONF key.
  4. To add additional callers to an existing conference call, simply repeat the above steps for each party you add.
