Creating a Huskycast student assignment folder

Panopto Huskycast provides an easy way to support student video assignments.  When you create an assignment folder in your Panopto Huskycast course folder students are given access to record and upload video.

Creating an Assignment Folder

  1. Navigate to your main course folder and click the settings icon (gear) located at the top right of the screen.
  2. Under the Overview tab, click the link at the bottom to create assignment folder.
  3. The folder will adopt the name of your course by default, followed by an assignments tag for easy identification.
  4. The folder will now appear in your main course folder and automatically assigns limited creator rights to students enrolled in your course.

Student video assignment submissions:

  1. Click on the assignment folder from the main Huskycast course folder.
  2. Access the green Create button at the top of the screen and choose the option to upload media.
  3. Students will only be able to upload, edit and delete their own submissions in the assignment folder.

Allow students to view other user's content in an assignment folder:

By default, students are not able to see or view other student submissions within the assignment folder.  To enable this feature:

  1. Navigate to the assignment folder in the course that you wish to edit, and open up the settings for the folder.
  2. Under the Settings tab, check the box next to Allow viewers to see each other's sessions.
  3. Students are now able to view other student's submissions, but cannot edit them.
