Activating a research license in ANSYS

NOTE: Ansys must be closed when doing this change. If you receive an error that your model is too big, you will need to use the research license outlined in this document.

Activation Steps

  1. Close Ansys.
  2. Select the Windows Start Menu
  3. Search for and open Ansys User License Preferences.
  4. Select Academic Research License.
  5. Select Move up button until Academic Research License is at the top of the list.
  6. Double check the license is set to one for use.
  7. Select  Apply.
  8. When finished using the license, select the Reset to Default button in the License User Preferences to use the teaching license again.ANSYS Academic Research License
