Vital Point of Sale - How To

Add products

  1. Log into Vital POS Portal with your credentials (requires your user has the Manager role)
  2. Click the Point of Sale button
  3. In the upper right, make sure that the Account 121279 MTU-Tech Express Web is selected
    dropdown for choosing account

To add a new product

  1. In the left Navigation select Items.
  2. Select Item Library.
  3. Find the section that has the items for your store.
  4. Select the Actions button.
  5. Select Add Item.
  6. Fill out the item form including the:
    • price
    • description
  • Check "Where this Item will appear" and make sure the Item Library Position is set to your store.
  • Select Save.

To Add the new Product to your Point of Sale Screen

  1. In the upper right, change the account to your store.
    dropdown for choosing your store
  2. In the Left Navigation select Items.
  3. Select Item Screens.
  4. Choose the screen you want to put the item on and then click the edit "pencil" icon next to the screen.
  5. Click the Add button.
  6. Use the Add Items search bar, or search by product hierarchy to choose the item you wish to add.
  7. Select Save.
  8. Log into the Vital Point of Sale iPad and run a sync to see the new product on the screen.

Using the Vital POS iPad for Sales

  1. Log in on the iPad.
  2. Touch the Vital POS app.
  3. Enter your passcode or username and password credentials.
  4. Touch SALE.
  5. Choose a product from list or choose MANUAL ENTRY.
    1. Touch ENTER NAME - type in item (duplication, shipping, etc.)
    2. Enter in the amount and touch ADD
  6. When done touch
  7. Touch CARD.
  8. Insert or swipe card (If there is a chip, please make sure to insert the card rather than swiping)
  9. Confirm the amount.
  10. Remove card.
  11. Have patron sign.
  12. Touch NEXT.
  13. Have patron enter email for a receipt.
  14. Touch SEND EMAIL.
  15. Touch COMPLETE SALE.

Refunds

  1. Touch HISTORY.
  2. Select the transaction you want to refund and touch FULL REFUND.
  3. Have patron enter their email for a receipt.
  4. Touch SEND EMAIL
  5. Touch COMPLETE SALE

Closing Procedure

Please complete daily at close. Please note: If there have been no sales during the day you will not need to complete this step

  1. Touch Management.
  2. Touch CLOSE REGISTER.
