Reactivating the DUO App on a New Phone or Phone Number

The following article refers to reactivating the DUO app on a new phone or with a new phone number.

New Phone Number

If you have a new phone number, please visit our Technical Assistance Center (TAC) located in the Van Pelt and Opie Library for assistance. If you are off-campus, you will need the ability to video chat for identity verification.

New Phone with Existing Phone Number

If you changed phones but kept your phone number previously registered with DUO, you have the following options: 

  • IT can update DUO remotely and send you SMS messages with the DUO mobile app link and registration code for your device. Email us at it-help@mtu.edu or call (906) 487-1111 during university business hours for assistance. 
  • You are able to reauthorize a new phone by visiting the Two-Step Authorization Registration page and selecting Add a New Device in the menu. From there, follow the prompts to reauthorize your account to work with your new phone.
