The following instructions explain how to backup and restore your department’s capture profiles. Below is a screenshot of what the default profiles are within Perceptive Content:
Backup your existing profiles
The inscan.xml file exists in a couple of different locations (check both to be sure):
- C:\Program Files\ImageNow7\inscan.xml
- H:\Application Data\ImageNow\inscan.xml
Note: After backing up the file in C:\Program Files\ImageNow7\ if H: inscan.xml file does not exist, proceed to Restore your capture profiles
To backup your existing profiles, create a copy of the inscan.xml file.
Restore your capture profiles
- Right-click and copy (CTRL + C) one of the inscan.xml files and paste (CTRL + V) into a new location on your computer.
Example backup locations:
- H:\Documents\Perceptive Content; or
- M:\Folder\Perceptive Content ( use appropriate departmental Multidrive )
- Once copied, rename the file to inscan.xml.todaysdateandyear
- Right-click on the inscan.xml file, select Show more options, then select Rename.
- Type in the new file name. (Example file name: inscan.xml.11142024)
- Copy the inscan.xml file from your department’s M drive ( or from your backup location ) into the following two folders:
C:\Program Files\ImageNow7\
H:\Application Data\ImageNow\
- If inscan.xml was copied from your backup location, rename the file from inscan.xml.todaysdateandyear to inscan.xml
- Right-click on the inscan.xml.todaysdateandyear file, select Show more options, and then select Rename.
- Remove the .todaysdateandyear from the file name. The file name should now be inscan.xml
- Once the files have been copied back into place, restart Perceptive Content.
