Office 365 license activation
Once you have Microsoft Office 365 installed, you will need to sign in to the suite with your Michigan Tech account in order to properly license it. Please note that you will be prompted to sign in and activate Office 365 periodically on computing lab, classroom, conference, and instructor podium computers.
- When you launch any of the Microsoft Office 365 applications for the first time, you will be presented with the following Sign in window. Select the Sign in button.
- An Activate Office window will appear. Enter your Michigan Tech email address and select Next.
- You may encounter a screen that asks you to select a Work or school account or personal account. Select Work or school account.
- In the Michigan Tech log in window, enter your password and select Sign in. DUO will prompt you to authenticate. You should now be logged into Office.
Installing on a personal device
If you’re installing Office 365 on a personal device, you may be prompted with the following window asking you to "Allow my organization to manage my device." Make sure this checkbox is unchecked and select No, sign in to this app only. Please visit Microsoft software on a personal device for further instructions.
