How to Check your Voicemail from a Multiple Voicemail Box System

Accessing voicemail from your Mitel telephone

OR press the message button if you have a Mitel IP phone and your message waiting lamp is flashing.
Once you have gained access to the voicemail system, you will hear the following recording: "<your departmental message>. To retrieve messages for mailbox 11_ _ _ _, press 1. To retrieve messages for mailbox 12_ _ _ _, press 2, etc."
Press your personal voice mailbox designation number.
Once you have gained access to the voicemail system, you will hear the following recording: "Hello, mailbox 1 _ _ _ _ _, please enter your passcode."
If you have requested voicemail, and have not already set up a personalized voicemail passcode, the default password is blank and it will prompt you to set your passcode the first time you try to access your mailbox.
If your account has not been activated, you will need to complete the tutorial. Please see Getting Started with Michigan Tech voicemail for instructions on activating your account.
Enter your passcode.
Follow the voicemail instructions to play your messages and/or access the tutorial.
Accessing your voicemail from an analog telephone

Dial your mailbox number
Your personal voice mailbox number always begins with the number 1, which is followed by your personal designation number, and finally the last 4 digits of your departmental phone number. For example: if your departmental phone number is 487-4567 and your personal designation number is 2, then your voice mailbox number is 124567
Once you have dialed your mailbox number, you will hear the following recording, if your account has not yet been activated: "I'm sorry, but the person you called did not activate the voice messaging service. Please try again later."
If you have
requested voicemail via the Telcom site

Accessing your voicemail from an off-campus telephone

Dial your mailbox number
Your personal voice mailbox number always begins with the number 1, which is followed by your personal designation number, and finally the last 4 digits of your departmental phone number.
