How to enable Google Cloud Print

Google has announced that effective December 31, 2020 they will no longer support Cloud Print.

You can use Google Cloud Printing from your Android or iOS Device.

To use Google Cloud Print you need three things:

  1. A Google account (You will need to ensure you are signed into your "" email account on the device from which you're trying to print.)
  2. A computer or device capable of running Google Chrome.
  3. Access to printers capable of printing to Cloud Print. Michigan Tech IT has shared out the Husky BW and Color printers to students, staff, and faculty by default, so they should already be accessible.

Android Devices

In general, if you are on an Android device and are signed into your Michigan Tech account, Google Print should simply work and you should have the Husky BW and Color printers made available for you. If you try printing on your device and you're signed into your account, you should see the printers as accessible.

iOS Devices

If you have an iOS device, you can print from any Google app provided you are logged into your account. If you are trying to print on an iOS device outside of a Google App, you will need to install a compatible app that works with Google Cloud Print.

Please note that some third-party apps for the iOS may have a cost associated with the installation. Refer to Google's list of apps that work with Google Cloud Print.

Additionally, you can visit this page to manage your print jobs using Google Cloud Print.
